How Rise and Fall Works
The contestants are split into two camps. The Rulers live in a luxurious penthouse and make the decisions, while the Workers live in the basement and carry out tasks that add money to the prize pot. Positions are not fixed: contestants can rise to the penthouse or fall to the basement as alliances shift, and the Rulers have a say in who leaves.
Eliminations
- Day 2: Siwet Tomar was ejected.
- Day 7: Anish Bhagat was evicted by the Rulers.
- Day 11: Karan Patel left for medical reasons. He returned on Day 18.
- Day 14: Tej Pratap Yadav walked out; he had joined only for a brief stint.
- Day 17: Kaira Anu and Raj Grover were evicted by the Rulers.
- Day 21 (Episode 25): with Priyanka, Kajal, Sonam, Manisha and Sara up for the week’s fall, the Rulers chose to save Sonam Malik, and Sara Gurpal and Kajal Raghwani were both eliminated, Filmibeat reported.
- Day 28 (29 October episode): Shehzad Poonawalla and Swara Bhasker were saved first, Swara through audience votes, leaving Irina Rudakova and Karan Patel in the bottom two at the mercy of the Rulers. Gautam and Rishabh backed Karan, Priyanka and Niharika backed Irina, and Jashwanth’s deciding vote saved Karan, so Irina Rudakova left the Tower, Filmibeat reported.
- Before the finale: Manish Kasyap, Rishabh Jaiswal, Jashwanth Bopanna and Sonam Malik were all out by the time the finalists were set, Variety India reported on 3 November.
Week 4: Takhta Palat, a New Ultimate Ruler and Family Week
- 22 October: Ultimate Ruler Niharika Tiwari took the bigger gamble on offer, sending both Rishabh Jaiswal and Jashwanth Bopanna down to the Basement in return for doubling the prize pot.
- 23 October: the Workers pulled off the season’s first Takhta Palat and took over the Penthouse as the new Rulers. Every former Ruler except Niharika went downstairs, her tenure as Ultimate Ruler ended, and every player was nominated for the week’s elimination, according to Filmibeat’s recap.
- 24 October: Gautam Gulati beat Rishabh and Manish to become the new Ultimate Ruler. Shehzad was injured during the task and Swara took his place.
- 26–27 October: family week, when the players’ loved ones visited the Tower.
- 28 October: Sonam, Jashwanth, Rishabh and Manish, the four Rulers who kept landing in the bottom four of the rankings, were nominated for a fall. After a heated clash between the two, Gautam’s call sent Manish to the Basement, and Sonam then chose herself as the second Ruler to go down (Filmibeat).
- 29 October: Shehzad’s brother Tehseen Poonawalla made a surprise appearance, joining season 1 contestant and entertainment journalist Nayandeep Rakshit for a Power Play session with the players.
1 November: Gautam Gulati was told his tenure as Ultimate Ruler was over, Filmibeat reported.
Rise and Fall 2 Finalists and Prize Money
Six players reached the grand finale. Swara Bhasker, Shehzad Poonawalla, Gautam Gulati and Karan Patel qualified first, and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Niharika Tiwari were picked from the Basement players. According to Zee News, the pots stood at Rs 22.4 lakh in the Penthouse and Rs 12.55 lakh in the Basement before the finale, so the winner would take home Rs 35 lakh if the two are combined.
