Early Life and Education
Tanmay Singh was born on 30 July 1996 in Valsad, Gujarat, according to Brut and SportsDunia. SportsDunia writes that he finished school in Valsad and began a mechanical engineering degree, which he left once he decided gaming was what he wanted to do. The same profile says his gamertag comes from the Scout rifle he liked to use in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Esports Career: From PUBG Mobile to BGMI
Scout started competing in 2018, as PUBG Mobile esports took off in India, and over the next few years played for TeamIND, Team SouL, Fnatic and Orange Rock, as listed by The Times of India. His best-known run came in 2020, when he played the PUBG Mobile World League East for Orange Rock on loan from Fnatic. That roster finished second, which Esports.net calls the best result by any Indian team in the PUBG Mobile era, and Scout was named the South Asia Fan Favourite Player at the event.
After PUBG Mobile was disrupted in India he moved to its Indian version, BGMI. Brut lists his later teams as Team SouL, Team XSpark, Team Zero, Wyld Fangs and Medal Esports, and notes that Liquipedia now shows him with Quantum Sparks after a break from competitive play.
Team XSpark
Alongside playing, Scout became a co-founder and owner of the BGMI organisation Team XSpark. The team won the BGMI India Series (BGIS) 2024 in Hyderabad. In an interview with Esports.net after that event he described his players as “my brothers who live in my house under the same roof”, rather than employees.
YouTube and Social Media
Scout also streams and makes gaming videos. In September 2026 The Times of India put his YouTube audience at more than five million subscribers and his Instagram following at around 4.4 million. On the Bigg Boss 20 premiere he told host Salman Khan that he earns around Rs 30 lakh a month from gaming. Brut points out that this is his own figure, not an audited one.
