Childhood and Personal Life

Her parents are Manohar Galrani and Reshma and her sibling Sanjjanaa is in the field of acting too. Her birthplace is Bangalore and she finished her PUC from Bishop Cotton Girls School from science stream because her family wished that she made a career in the medical profession. However, later on, she was allowed to take up fashion designing as a career option. Nikki Galrani has done modelling as well as endorsed some famous brands.

She made her debut in the film industry with Malayalam movie “1983” which was directed by Abrid Shine who is also a fashion photographer. The flick was also written by Abrid and it turned out to be a huge hit; Nikki won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South for her superb acting.

Interestingly, when Galrani started her acting career in 2013, the first movie that she signed was “Ajith” (Kannada). She signed her second flick in just three days of signing her first film and that was “Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka” (Tamil). After some weeks, she signed “1983” (Malayalam) and even though it was her third signed film, it was the first movie to be released.

“Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka” was supposed to be her debut film in the Tamil industry as it was signed first but it got delayed, so Nikki Galrani made her debut with the horror-comedy movie “Darling”. The flick was very successful at the box-office as it was made with the budget of Rs. 10 crore but made a collection of more than Rs. 32 crore. Nikki’s acting was appreciated by critics and she also won the Edison Award for the Best Debut Actress for her performance in the movie.

Other Achievements

After the super success of “Darling”, media persons started addressing Nikki Galrani as Darling. In the year 2015, she was placed fifth in the list of “25 Most Desirable women of 2015” by Kochi Times. Not only this, Nikki Galrani was declared as the most searched celebrity online by the McAfee Intel Security in 2016. Besides, she has also been referred to as the most successful actress of the Malayalam Cinema by IBTimes.
