Accounts of her father’s work differ slightly: SheThePeople described him as an ambulance driver, while profile site WikiBio says he is a driver with the Indian Navy who took on ambulance duty for Navy-linked hospitals during the Covid pandemic.
According to SheThePeople, the veteran composer Anandji renamed her Sayli Kishor Kamble. Her parents supported her interest in music from childhood, and she trained as a classical singer at a very young age before performing at competitions, concerts and events.
She has spoken about how close she is to her family. In a 2025 interview with Eastern Eye she said music had allowed her to buy her own home and take her parents overseas, with their first trip abroad being to London with her, followed by Abu Dhabi.

Alongside music, Sayli kept up her studies. She studied statistics at Mumbai University and holds a master’s degree in science specialising in statistics.

She later told Eastern Eye that she knew even then that her wedding would follow soon after the show, and that her father sat in front of her crying during the song because he knew she would soon leave the family home.
The grand finale aired on 15 August 2021. Pawandeep Rajan won the season, Arunita Kanjilal was first runner-up, and Sayli Kamble finished as the second runner-up (third place). She has credited Indian Idol with giving her the confidence to face a stage and reach an audience.
Songs and Music Career
Work arrived quickly. FilmiBeat reported that, the very next day after the finale, she recorded her first Marathi film song for director Joe Rajan’s Kolhapur Diaries, an official remake of the Malayalam film Angamaly Diaries. The song was composed by Avadhoot Gupte and recorded at Aajivasan studios in Juhu, Mumbai.
