Disha Parmar is an Indian television actress from New Delhi. She was cast as Pankhuri in Star Plus’s Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara (2012) while still a teenager, and later won wider recognition as Priya in Ekta Kapoor’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2. She is married to singer Rahul Vaidya, who proposed to her on Bigg Boss 14. The couple have a daughter, Navya, and since October 2026 the two have been competing together on Colors TV’s Pati Patni Aur Panga 2.

Early Life and Education

Wikipedia, Filmibeat and SheThePeople all give Disha’s date of birth as 11 November 1994, with New Delhi as her birthplace. She studied at Sadhu Vaswani International School in Delhi, and in her higher secondary years she was busy with dance contests, plays and fashion shows.

Print and TV commercials in Delhi gave her a first taste of the entertainment business. Filmibeat says she was partway through a Business Marketing degree when her first television role came along, and she put her undergraduate studies on hold to take it.

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara (2012)

Her route to acting ran through an office job. For a year she worked at Elite Model Management India in Delhi, where one of her tasks was organising auditions for Rajshri Productions. She signed up for those auditions herself and came away with the lead, Pankhuri, in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, which started on Star Plus in 2012, when she was 17. Her on-screen pairing with Nakuul Mehta drew praise, and the two were named Best Onscreen Couple at the 2014 Indian Telly Awards.

Woh Apna Sa and other work

In 2014 she played in Box Cricket League. In 2016 she appeared in Arré’s web series I Don’t Watch TV, and her 2017 lead was Janvi / Jiya in Woh Apna Sa, a Zee TV daily soap whose cast also included Sudeep Sahir, Riddhi Dogra, Manasi Salvi and Kunal Karan Kapoor. How Disha met Rahul

Rahul Vaidya, the Indian Idol 1 singer who later finished runner-up on Bigg Boss 14, has said that friends they had in common introduced them and that they hit it off straight away. Their first outing, he told an interviewer quoted by BollywoodShaadis, was in Delhi in November 2018, during the shoot of his single “Yaad Teri”. Disha starred in that video when it came out in 2019, and again in “Madhanya” (2021), Rahul’s song with Asees Kaur.

The proposal on Bigg Boss 14

Rahul chose Disha’s birthday to propose to her on national television, while he was a contestant on Bigg Boss 14, with the question printed on his T-shirt.
