Geeta Basra is a well-known Indian actress who acts in both Bollywood and Punjabi movies. She is the wife of the famous Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh.
She was born in a Punjabi family in Portsmouth, England. Her father has a shop in Portsmouth, and she completed her schooling from their only. Geeta was so influenced with Madhuri Dixit that at the age of 17, she decided to have a career in acting and moved to Mumbai and joined Kishore Namit Kapoor’s Acting Institute to learn acting.

Career of Geeta Basra
Geeta Basra had a great fascination about the human mind and thus wanted to study and learn more about the same. For that reason, she started to study psychology. But Geeta was also a great fan of Indian superstar actress Madhuri Dixit Nene. So, at the age of 17, she came down to Mumbai and started taking an acting course from the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute.

This is the same institute which trained many other popular stars like Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, and others. After completing the course, Geeta returned to Portsmouth and hired a manager to handle the offers from the industry. In the year of 2006, she got her first break in Bollywood in the movie “Dil Diya Hai”. This was a multi starrer movie which has actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Emran Hashmi, Asmit Patel and others.
Her second movie “The Train” was also with Emran Hashmi. This movie was released on 2007. Due to the failure of both the movie, the talented actress didn’t get the required push and support to survive in the film industry. Geeta Basra also acted in one of the popular music video song “Ghum Sum Ghum Sum” by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Sukshinder Shinda.
After that, she acted in many other Bollywood and Punjabi movies like Zilla Ghaziabad ( Muti starrer movie), Joe B. Carvalho (Arshad Warsi), Second Hand Husband( Dharmendra, Gippy Grewal), Lock ( Gippy Grewal, Gurpreet Ghuggi). Most of them were cameo roles or guest appearances.
After she got married with the great off spinner of the Indian cricket team Harbhajan Singh in 2015, she completely shifted her focus on her family. The couple was blessed with a daughter on 27th July 2016. She was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire. The little princess was named Hinaya Heer Plaha.
