‘Miss World 2017’ Manushi Chillar is all set to enter in the hall of fame of beauty queens to Bollywood star. The 22-year-old ex-Miss World will be seen starring opposite Akshay Kumar in Yash Raj Films upcoming project ‘Prithviraj’
Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar shared a video of the mahurat pooja at Yash Raj studios yesterday. Seen in the video are Akshay Kumar, Manshi Chillar, Rani Mukherjee Chopra along with the director of the upcoming movie Prithviraj, Dr. Chandraprakash Diwedi.

The movie is a biopic of the brave and legendary Rajput ruler Prithviraj Chauhan. Dr. Chandraprash Diwedi who will be directing the movie is known for directing period dramas like ‘Chanakya’ and ‘Pinjar’ in the past too. Also read, Nikki Galrani, Radhika Pandit.
Akshay Kumar will be seen in and as Prithviraj Chauhan, Manushi Chillar will be playing his wife Sanyogita. The makers of the movie were looking for a beautiful young Indian girl as in real life Sanyogita was an extremely beautiful lady, yet she was strong and confident. So the makers were looking for an actress could do justice to the persona and personality of Sanyogita. So after auditioning a lot of young girls and fresh faces it was Manushi’s audition or rather auditions as she had to audition multiple times that wooed the casting directors of the movie.
In a recent interview, Manushi expressed her utter joy and excitement to be making her Bollywood debut with a huge production house like Yash Raj Films. She said it was a ‘huge honour’ to be chosen as the lead heroine and she feels her life has been nothing less than a fairytale so far, first becoming Miss India then becoming Miss world and now a Yash Raj heroine. She hopes to do justice to the role of ‘Sanyogita’ and portray is as accurate as possible.
Prithviraj is set to hit the theaters by Diwali next year.
